I just got off the phone with one of my best friends. Her dad had a massive stroke last night and they don’t expect him to make it. We live in Utah; he lives in Idaho. She drove up there last night. He’s on heart and lung machines and totally paralyzed. He wasn’t able to talk to her, but he knew she was there. She said he was crying. I feel so bad for her. She plans on taking her children up there on Saturday to tell him goodbye.
On top of that, her 15 year old is in the hospital right now. He had heart surgery a couple weeks ago. He was sent home last Wednesday, but they readmitted him Saturday. He had to have another surgery to fix something they messed up in the first one. Now he might have to have a third surgery because his chest is still draining and shouldn’t be at this point. They are trying to figure out why.
As you can see, she was already under a lot of stress so this thing with her dad is dragging her under. Please pray for her strength. Not to mention since her son is in the hospital, she won’t be able to take him to Idaho to see his grandpa one last time.
Her name is Amy. Her son’s name is Matt. My mind has gone blank on her dad’s name. I know it, just can’t remember it right now. I always knew him pretty much as dad. :)
Please say a little prayer for me too. I’m coming up on the 3rd anniversary of my dad’s passing so this is hitting me a little harder than it might have otherwise. Although regardless it would be hard to see her hurting so bad.
